Services Here For John Reagan
Funeral services for Harvey John Reagan were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. with the Rev. Leonard Franz officiating.
Recorded organ music was played before and after the service.
The casket bearers were G. Ray Connolly, Jack Johnson, Ray Menzel and James Taylor.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Obituary
Harvey John Reagan died at the Maurie Borton Nursing Home at 5 p. m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 1958, after a long and painful illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1881 to Mathew C. and Mary L. Reagan at Clyde, Iowa in Jasper County.
His parents moved to Story county when John was a small lad and here he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Ella Strickler here in Nevada, Nov. 11, 1903.
They had farmed in various parts of the county. In 1923 they moved into Nevada where they made their home until his wife's death June 18, 1926.
He continued to live here, working at many jobs and frequently was drawn back to the farm by working as a farm hand, thus acquiring a large acquaintance and a host of friends.
Mr. Reagan is the last of eight children born to Mathew C. and Mary L. Reagan.
Those who preceded him in death were his wife Ella, his mother and father, three sisters, Ella Drake of Nevada, Belle Norris of Nevada and Rachael Harding of Denison, Iowa. Two brothers who died in infancy, Norman and Ruffus and George of Aredale, Iowa and Grover C. of Benson City, Wash.
He leaves to mourn his death several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
