THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 13, 1924, page 1, column 2. "Mrs. Marsh passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. H. Keagle, at Collins, last Saturday and was buried from the Methodist church at Collins, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 20, 1924, page 1. "MRS. LAURA A. MARSH. - Laura A. Hartpence was born September 3, 1845, at Indianapolis, Ind. Coming to Iowa with the family in early childhood, they settled on a farm in Marshall county. She was married to Lewis W. Marsh, October 12, 1865. To this union eight children, three sons and five daughters, were born; three daughters preceding her to the eternal home. The surviving children are: Ralph E., of Charles City, Iowa; J. Walter, Mrs. Laura Keagle and Mrs. Grace Weese, of Collins, and Scott, of Osage, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh came to Story county and settled on the old Marsh farm, near Collins, about the year 1870. Living near and in Collins until 1906, when lured by the sunny clime of California, they moved to Pasadena, where they made their home until the death of Mr. Marsh on July 16, 1923, when she returned to Collins and has since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Keagle, where she passed away March 8th, aged seventy-eight years, six months and five days. Mrs. Marsh was converted in her youth and ever lived a life of devotion to her Lord. She was for many years a member of the Collins Methodist Episcopal church, until she moved to California, where she and Mrs. Marsh united with the First Methodist Episcopal church of Pasadena. She was a devoted wife, a loving unselfish mother and loyal friend. Her outstanding traits of character being unselfishness, loving kindness and gentleness. Besides the five children, she is survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of friends."
