"OBITUARY - Mr. Alexander Lint was born in Somerset Co., Pa., March 4th, 1831; died at his home in Jasper Co., Iowa, Nov. 6, 1894. The funeral took place at the Buena Vista church on Thursday, Nov. 8th, at 11 a. m., and was conducted by Rev. R. A. Ferguson of this place. He was assisted by Rev. Heckathorn, of Mingo, who is an old friend of the family. Mr. Lint united with the Evangelical church at Green Castle in the year 1857, and lived a consistent christian life until the day of his death. He was married to Lavina Diehl in the year 1853. They came to Iowa in 1863. He was held in the highest esteem as a man and a citizen. The old citizens came from far and near to attend the funeral. His sickness was lingering, being consumption, but he bore it all very patiently, and was anxious to be relieved from suffering. He leaves his widow and five children to mourn for him, one of his sons being Levi D. Lint of this place. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters, one of the brothers being J. H. Lint, of this place. CARD OF THANKS - Mrs. Alexander Lint and family extend thanks to their neighbors and friends for the kindness and help bestowed so generously in the sickness and death of Mr. Lint, and will try to be as faithful to others under like circumstances."
