THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 14, 1897, page 5, column 4. "OBITUARY. - KYLE. - On Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1897, at the home of his parents, Willie, only child of Mr. and Mrs. James Kyle, aged 11 years, 4 months and 21 days. Little Willie Kyle was a sufferer for several days with that dread scourge, diphtheria. All was done for him that human skill could devise, but the struggle was uneven, and death claimed its own. Willie was a great sufferer, but bore all without complaint, took his medicine willingly and expressed a hope to live in order to be of assistance to his parent; but that he was ready to go if he must and they would meet him in heaven. "Go to thy rest in peace, And soft be thy repose; Thy toils are o'er, thy troubles cease; >From earthly cares in sweet release, Thine eyelids gently close, Go to thy rest, and while Thy absence we deplore, One thought our sorrow shall beguile; For soon with a celestial smile, We meet to part no more."
