THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, May 29, 1902, page 1. "OBITUARY - KIMBERLEY. - Leroy Frances Kimberley died at the home of his parents in Jasper county, May 21, 1902, of membrainous** croup, being but two years, nine months and eleven days old. It is hard to understand why these little flowers are placed in the world and taken away so soon, but the Great Ruler of the Universe does all things for the best and we must bow in humble submission to His will. Leroy Frances was an exceptionally bright little boy and was a great favorite with all who knew him, but it was not willed that he should grow to manhood and go forth as a man among men. He was a very dutiful child for one of his age, seeming to have the understanding of one several years older, and in every way his actions were such as to receive approving remarks from those who knew him. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of a host of friends. The mother who so closely watched her child through its sickness now has diphtheria as a result of over work and exposure, and it is hoped that she may soon be restored to health." **Editorial note - spelling is as found in the newspaper article.
