THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 28, 1901, page 7. "Saturday, word came to Mr. and Mrs. J. M. King that the former's sister, Mrs. Kaylor, of Monticello, Iowa, was dangerously ill and her life despaired of, and summoning them to come at once. Mr. King had been in the southern part of the state and only arrived on the noon train that day, the last passenger train east on this road between that time and Monday noon. They succeeded, however, in getting a permit to go on an extra, eastbound, stock freight Sunday afternoon. By reason of the delay they were unable to reach the bed side of his sister until death had come. The heartfelt sympathy of all goes out to them in the hour of their bereavement."
