"Obituary. - Died, March 17th, 1892, at Tracy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, Joseph Hutton, aged 66 years, 6 months and 29 days. The immediate cause of death was blood poisoning caused by an injury to one foot several years ago. The funeral services were held in the Church in Elkhart to a large and sympathizing audience and were conducted by Jeff Mathis a minister of the Dunkard Church of which deceased was a consistent member for many years. Mr. Hutton was a model man in every respect and as such was respected by the entire community. He leaves a wife, four sons and three daughters, all of who were present at the funeral except two daughters living in Washington. He will be very much missed in church where his seat was seldom vacant, also in every day life where his good counsel and better judgement were sought after by his numerous friends and acquaintances. But we have good reason to believe that our earth loss is his eternal gain. G. E. G."THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 24, 1892, page 1, column 4.
