THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 1, 1940, page 1, column 4. "EMILY THERESA ROBISON - Emily Theresa Robison, daughter of R. A. and Nancy Robison was born on the old Robison homestead two miles west of Iowa Center, on Dec. 29, 1860 where she grew to womanhood, and passed away at the home of her son, Cloyd Maxwell, of Maxwell, on Wednesday, July 24, 1940, at 7:00 a. m., age 79 years, 6 months and 25 days. Her parents were one of the pioneer families to settle in Story county. On April 9, 1885 she was united in marriage to Warren Joseph Maxwell. To this union three sons were born, one of whom passed away in infancy; the other two are still living. Mr. Maxwell preceded her in death on April 7, 1931. On Dec. 22, 1934, she was married to J. A. Hendricks, who still survives. Seven years after her first marriage they moved onto the Robison homestead where they resided until 1907, then they moved to their farm west of Maxwell, where they lived till 1918 and they retired from farm activities and settled in Maxwell. She was a kind and loving mother and she was respected and loved and always ready to speak a kind word and five a smile and reach a helping hand. She attended the United Evangelical Church at Iowa Center, and the Methodist Church at Maxwell. The son said of her "As long as I can remember mother read her Bible almost every day. The memory of such devotion is a priceless heritage. Surviving are her husband, two sons Boyd W. and Cloyd D. Maxwell, of Maxwell, Ia., one sister, Mrs. Fannie Proctor of Nevada; two brothers, R. A. Robison, of Nevada, Ia., and E. H. Robison of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandsons, Millard Boyd, John Warren and Robert __ Maxwell, all of Maxwell, Ia., many other relatives and a large circle of friends also mourn her death. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, July 26, at the Methodist Church, with the Reverends W. S. Kight, of Des Moines, former pastor and an old time friend of the family, and Judson T. Perkins, local pastor, officiating. The Misses Naomi __ and Darlene Moore sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and Miss Perkins sang "Some Day We'll Understand." The floral offerings were carried by Mrs. Clay Robison and Mrs. Forest Robison. The pallbearers were V. D. Gamble, Clay and Forest Robison, Fred and Martin Maxwell and Roscoe Longnecker. Interment in the Iowa Center cemetery. Out-of-town relatives and friends were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Cerwinska and Joe and Sheldon, of Charles City, Ia.; Nellie Beck, Cambridge, Ia.; Dr. Glen Fultz, Pella, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. John Bear, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bear, of Rhodes, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kellogg, Mrs. Hazel Golden, Miss Julia Hensey, all of Nevada, Ia.; Mrs. Hans Hansen, Mrs. Ralph Boyle, Mrs. Orrie Ryan, all of Ames, Ia.." "Card of Thanks. - To those who have been with us in our bereavement and by kind words and kindly acts have tried to lesson our sorrow, we extend our sincere thanks. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Maxwell and Family, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Maxwell and Family."
