THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 11, 1969, page 1, column 2. “WILLIS HALTERMAN. – Funeral services for Willis Halterman, 86, were held Friday, Sept. 5, at 1:30 p.m., in the Cooper Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Ellsworth officiating. Mrs. Madeline Summitt furnished the organ music. Casket bearers were Dale and Arnold Scott, H. L. Minear, Forest Allen, Ralph Vasey and Clarence Godby. Interment was in the Iowa Center Cemetery. Halterman died in the Boone County Hospital Tuesday night, Sept. 2. Survivors are two sons, Clarence of Stockton, Calif. And Leon of Ames; one daughter, Mrs. Lessie McLackland of Stockton, Calif., and five grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Minta Whitney of Des Moines, and Mrs. Della Davis of Maxwell and one brother, Joe of Maxwell also survive. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife and one daughter.”
