THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 26, 1951, page 1, column 3. "MRS WILLIS HALTERMAN PASSES AWAY - Mrs. Charlotte Adel Halterman passed away at her home Saturday evening April 21. Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Iowa Center church with Rev. Ira Carney in charge. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Clarence L. and Leon M., both of Maxwell; one daughter, Mrs. Lessie McLacklin of Stockton, California, and five grandchildren. Interment was in the Iowa Center Cemetery."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, May 3, 1951, page 1, column 3. "MRS. HALTERMAN FUNERAL - Charlotte Adel Pizer was born in Iowa Center, August 10, 1881, daughter of James and Jane Pizer. Death came to her at her home in Maxwell April 21, 1951, at the age of 69 years. March 12, 1902, she was married to Willis Halterman in Iowa Center. To this union were born four children, a daughter dying in infancy, and surviving her are Clarence and Leon Halterman of Maxwell, and Mrs. Lessie McLacklin of Stockton, California, her husband and five grandchildren. Mrs. Halterman became a Christian in the Iowa Center Church around the beginning of the century and her birthplace and childhood playground were nearby. After making Maxwell their home they moved to New Hampton, Iowa, in 1925, returning to Maxwell after about a dozen years. Mrs. Halterman was a lover of nature and people and trusted in her Bible and prayer. Funeral was held Thursday afternoon, in the Iowa Center Church with Ira E. Carney officiating. Mrs. Ray Gooden sang "Under His Wing" **bout a doz. years. Mrs. Halter - and "Take Up Thy Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Porter. The pallbearers were Bele Mathews, Robert Mathews, W. J. Vasey, Robert M. and Dean Whitney, Morris Vasey and Ralph Vasey. Interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery." Editorial note - typed exactly the way it was in the newspaper article.
