THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 29, 1926, page 1, column 2. “W. C. HALL – William Crawford Hall was born in Kosciusko county, Indiana, May 16, 1846 and passed into the great beyond April 22, 1926, at Burns, Wyo. At the age of almost eighty years. He came with his parents, five brothers and one sister to this state in 1854. They came by covered wagon over almost trackless prairies and were strikken** enroute** by that dreadful epidemic, cholera, several members of the party dying, one brother, Amos, succumbed to the disease. Of this pioneer family, the oldest brother, Noble P. and the youngest brother, Thomas, are the only surviving members. Mr. Hall was married to Miss Sarah Angeline Marshall February 9, 1869, she having passed away about two and a half years ago. They were the parents of four children, Eva May who died in infancy, Olive Iona, now Mrs. J. F. Mahoney, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Lloyd Alvin, of Burns, Wyo., and John Logan who died at the age of four years. Mr. Hall was a man of ___ sterling qualities and loyal friend, a kind and loving husband and father. He was converted to the Christian faith He was a member of Tabernacle Lodge No. 452 A. F. & A. M. of Cambridge, Iowa, at which place he lived for many years. He later moved to Burns, Wyo., where he transferred his membership, being one of the organizers and a charter member of that lodge. Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at Burns at two o’clock Saturday afternoon, conducted jointly by the Rev. Thompson and the Masonic lodge of that place. The body accompanied by the son, Lloyd Hall, and son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mahoney, arrived at Maxwell Sunday at 12:46 p.m. The body was immediately taken to the home of Noble P. Hall, oldest brother, from which place a short service, conducted by Rev. Robinson, of Des Moines, was held at eleven o’clock Monday morning. Interment was made in the Maxwell cemetery. Friends of the Masonic order attended in a body and acted as pall bearers.
