THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, May 25, 1899, page 5. "OBITUARY - Dennis Hall was born in Ohio, Jan. 15, 1828 and died May 21, 1899, at Collins, Iowa, aged seventy-one years, 4 months, 6 days. He was married to Naomi King, Dec. 28, 1850, to whom were born four children, three of whom survive, one son living in Des Moines, and two daughters, Mrs. Halterman and Mrs. Swisher, of Collins. He united with the Methodist church 35 years ago, also enlisted as a soldier in the late rebellion. The last few years he has made his home with his children, his wife having died in 1872. The funeral services were held at the Christian church, Collins, conducted by Pastor Mowry."
