LILLIE MAE ANDREWS

MAXWELL--Funeral services for Lillie Mae Andrews were held Tuesday afternoon, February 4, 1958 in the Maxwell Christian Church with the Rev. Randall Sims officiating. The floral offerings were cared for by Gladys Wood and Leota Scott. Don Myers accompanied by Carol Myers sang "Saved By Grace" and "Near The Cross."

Casket bearers were Lyle Jay, Verle Myers, Lawrence French, Ernest Wood, Clint Ratzlaff and Dorus Myers. Interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery.

Life Sketch

Lillie Mae, daughter of George and Clara Dolph Smith, was born near Maxwell on October 7, 1880 and died at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Iowa, February 1, 1958 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to John Andrews November 30, 1901 at Iowa Center, Iowa. To this union were born 8 children, Irene, Blanche and Charles died in infancy. Her husband, John, died June 21, 1948. One sister, Mrs. Edna Belcher, died December 30, 1944.

Lillie Mae Andrews joined the fellowship of the Maxwell Christian Church on July 15, 1945 and remained a member throughout the years.

She is survived by 5 children Mrs. Pearl Byers of Bondurant, Ralph Andrews of Maxwell, Mrs. LaVera Blundell of San Mateo, California, Lowell Andrews of Maxwell and Mrs. Ruth Downing of Collins. One sister, Mrs. James Fry, of Elkhart also survives as well as 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
