Nevada resident, George P. Konec, dies Sunday

NEVADA - George P. Konec, 63, 835 J Ave., died Sunday morning at the Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past two days. He had been in ill health for six months.

A memorial will be held from St. Patrick's Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Father Franzz Lohberg officiating. The body has been donated to the University of Iowa Medical College.

Born April 22, 1913 in Kansas, Konec had been a resident of of Nevada for the past 30 years. He was an employee of R.H. Donnelley employee for the past 12 years. He was married to Josie VanDyke and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Josie; one brother, Fred Konec of Madison, Wisc. and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Scafani of Millbrae, Calif. and Mrs. Molly Jordan of Chicago, Ill.

Konec was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a sister.
