Nevada Boy Drowns at Grinnell.

Myron Thompson a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Thompson of Nevada met his death at Grinnell last Friday by drowning. He in company with two college friends was skating on the Arbor Lake, a skating resort near Grinnell, when he skated into an opening and drowned before aid could reach him. His body was recovered a few hours later. The young man would have been twenty years of age the 1st of May this year, had enrolled at Grinnell at the opening of the years school work, haveing graduated from Nevada Schools in 1913.

Myron Thompson, a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Thompson was born on a farm about five miles north of Nevada, on May 1st twenty years ago, and met his death by drowning at Grinnell on the evening of January 16, 1914. He leaves besides his parents five brothers and three sisters to mourn his sudden death.

The following paragraph is taken from the Scarlet and Black, a college paper. "He was characterized by his Grinnell acquaintances as having been quite an unassuming, slow to make advances, but a staunch friend to those who penetrated the surface and learned to know the man within. He was always cheerful, a willing worker and above all else a perfect gentleman at all times.

The funeral was held yesterday at Nevada from the Methodist church.
