Esther Woodman Rites Held At Peoria Church
MAXWELL: Services were held the Peoria Methodist church Sunday, Jan. 20, 1957 for Esther Jeanette Woodman, daughter of Orville and Charlotte Woodman.
Officiating at the services were the Rev. Leonard Franz of Nevada who delivered the message. Rev. William Willis of Grinnell gave a short message and read a poem. Rev E. K. Parrott from Lorimor red the obituary and gave a short message.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Clarabelle Muckey at the piano. Mrs. Wilma Sutherland sang "God's Tomorrow." Marjorie and Jane Muckey sang "He's Coming Soon" and "I Am Longing For Jesus to Come Back." Mrs. Eva Link, Mrs. Lois Aldrich and Mrs. Lucille Eatwell had charge of the many beautiful offerings.
Casket bearers were Richard Link, Meyer Brekke, Albert Link, Jr., Le Roy Sargent, Richard Green and Brace Robertson. Honorary pall bearers were Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Caple and Rev. and Mrs. E. K. Parrott.
Obituary
Esther Jeannette Woodman daughter of Orville and Charlotte Woodman was born July 11, 1914 at the local Woodman farm where she spent her entire life. He died Jan. 18, 1957 after an illness of four years. She received her education in the Maxwell school, graduating with the class of 1935.
She was very active in church work while her health permitted using her musical talents to assist her father in evangelistic work. She was a member of the Peoria church for many years, later becoming a member of the Assembly of God church in Nevada.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Leonard Woodman and one sister, Ruth, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woodman and Mr. and Mrs. John McHone.
She leaves as survivors, her parents, a sister Lucille Wallace of Bell, Calif.; nephews Forrest Woodman and William Wallace, a niece Margaret McGough a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rollis Hulsizer and a host of relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stall, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clark, Perry, Mrs. Victor Bloomberg, Grand Junction, Mrs. Myrtle Black, Granger, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. McHone, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. John Shafer, Omaha, Neb. and relatives and friends from nearby communities.
