Services Held For Mrs. Krink
Services were held Friday morning, May 14 at the Catholic church in Zearing for Mrs. Margaret Krink. She was a long time resident of McCallsburg. Mrs. Krink had been in failing health for sometime and had been taken to the Rockwell Nursing Home where she died as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage, Wednesday, May 12.
Rosary was said at the Warnaby Funeral Home at Sheffield, Iowa. Final services were at Zearing by Father Robert Swift with burial at McCallsburg cemetery.
In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Irene Loney and Mrs. Frances Barkley of McCallsburg. Bearers were Ross Morris, Ervin Morris, Obid Erickson, F. E. Nail, James Hall and Glen Boston.
Obituary
Margaret E. Smith was born Dec. 12, 1876 in McFalls, Davis county, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Smith. She was an only daughter with five brothers, all of whom preceded her in death.
Most of her early childhood was spent in South Dakota; there she was married to Samuel L. Krink in Howard, S. D. in 1895. The first three years of their married life was spent in Missouri, returning to South Dakota where they homesteaded on a claim.
To this union four children were born. Th family moved to McCallsburg, Iowa in 1915 to make their home. Her husband preceded her in death in 1941 but she continued to make McCallsburg her home until December 1953.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of McCallsburg, an active member of the Dorcas Society and the Pilgrim class of the Presbyterian church and a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge of Compton, Calif. Also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of eZarnig, Iowa.
Surviving are Orval L. of Sheffield, Iowa, Leola Morris of Compton, Calif., James L. of Fillmore, Calif. and Emera A. of Enumclaw, Wash. Six grandchildren LaVon Hayward, Frederick, Md., John D. Morris, Coronado, Calif. and Marlene and Carlene Krink, Enumclaw, Wash. Six great grandchildren Gregory Britson, Frederick, Md., Judy Morris, McCallsburg, Lee and Charles Skovgard, Sheffield, Douglas and Debra Basola, Fillmore, Calif.
