EINAR ASKELAND

Services will be held Tuesday for Einar Askeland, 84, of 415 M Avenue in Nevada, who died early Sunday morning at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames where he had been for the past week.

Born January 21, 1889 in Bergen, Norway to Mons and Johanna Askeland, he had been a resident of Nevada for the past 59 years and was a retired worker of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway. He was a member of Lutheran church.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Harry Mykelbust officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. Marvin (Evelyn) Dooley of Nevada; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three half-brothers in Norway and one half-sister also living there.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sons and his wife, Esther, who died March 23, 1973.
