OLE J. TWEDT LAID TO REST

Highly Respected Citizen of Warren Township Laid to Rest After A Short Illness

Ole J. Twedt was born in Brigdals Bygden Husness, Norway, May 29, 1857, and died at his home four miles southeast of Roland at 4 o'clock Sunday morning December 14, 1913 after a short illness of about ten days.

In the year 1866 he immigrated to thiis country in company with his father, John J. Twedt, his three brothers, Johannes, Joe and Abel and his two sisters, Caroline and Hattie. They settled down on a farm, which is now known as the old John J. Twedt homestead two and a half miles southeast of Roland.

He was united in marriage to Augusta Lien, September 28, 1872 and to this union was born four children, of whom three are living.

Mr. Twedt lived a good life and was granted the great privilege of keeping his senses, so that during the last days of his life he could bare most beautiful testimony of his trust in his Savior. He was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father, to his sisters a tender brother and to his friends the soul of fellowship. His cheerful helpful life, his devotion to his wife and family and his kindness to everybody will linger as a fragrant memory in the home which which his presence brightened and which death has now darkened. Though he is gone his remembrance will remain with us as a lasting treasure. His life was gentle but like the still water is was deep. In his heart of hearts he carried those he loved, and his hand was never weary, his step never failed in caring for and ministering to his family. It is sad to give up one whose influence has always been for good. Yet He who doeth all things well, makes no mistake. Besides a devoted wife he leaves two sons Joseph and Oscar, one daughter, Lizzie, one adopted son Knudtie Lien nad a host of relatives and friends. Well may we cherish his memory as a precious legacy, and put our trust in God who is willing and able to save anyone coming to Him in truth and spirit.

Funeral services were conducted at Bergen's church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Lerud officiating. The floral offerings were surpassing in profusion and beauty. Interment was make in the Roland cemetery and the gathering was one of the largest in attendance at a funeral which shows the reverence and respect in which the deceased was held in the community.
