THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 7, 1901, page 1. "Buena Vista - Mrs. Alfred Fletcher departed this life on Sunday evening at 10:30 o'clock and the funeral will be held at Buena Vista, Thursday at two p. m. She will be greatly missed as she was a good neighbor and a fine christian lady. While she has been ailing for sometime the end was not expected. The bereaved friends have the sympathy of all."

"OBITUARY. - Mrs. Anna Fletcher died Saturday evening February 2, 1901, was born August 8, 1830, at Freeport, Harrison county, Ohio, was seventy years, four months and twenty-four days old. Mrs. Fletcher was married to Michael McDonald, August 8, 1858, who died eleven years later, September 27, 1969. During that period there were born to them one son and three daughters, two of which survive them, Mr. Samuel McDonald and Mrs. Eliza McDonald Shields, both of Harrington, Washington. She was married to Mr. Alfred Fletcher June 25, 1872, who survives her. She was converted and was received into Snyder class M. P. church by Rev. Wm. McCorkle. The funeral was held at the Buena Vista church, February 7th, at two o'clock p. m. and interment at the Buena Vista cemetery, Washington township, Polk county, Iowa. Mrs. Fletcher was an estimable christain lady, who followed and made the Golden Rule her maxim in life and will be greatly missed by her large circle of friends. A FRIEND."
