THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 10, 1901, page 8, column 5. "Fatal Accident - Charles Fannon, about 19 years of age, living in Eldora, met an almost instant death. He and another young man were going for a hunt and were waiting for a team by the roadside. Young Fannon accidentally turned the barrel of his gun toward himself and it instantly went off, the shot taking effect in the head. He was a barber by trade."
