THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, February 29, 1912, page 4, column 2. “DEATH OF SOLOMAN ENFIELD – Word was received last week by A. C. Enfield of the death of his uncle, Solomon Enfield, who died in the Soldiers Home at Montevista,** Colorado, on the 22nd inst, at the age of seventy-one years. Mr. Enfield was born in Johnson County in 1841; he enlisted and served six months as a volunteer in the Civil War and in 1874 went west to Colorado, where he became interested in mines and mining stock, since that time has made that place his home. Mr. Enfield leaves two brothers, William and Conrad, of Polk County, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Dittmar, of Marshalltown, besides numerous other relatives.” **Editorial note – Montevista is actually Monte Vista.
