From Nevada Representative December 16, 1903 (page 7)

Mrs. George Hutchinson

Mrs. George Hutchinson of this city died at 6:40 p. m. Monday at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, where she had been for the previous three weeks. The cause of her death was an affection of the liver, from which she had suffered since last July. She had been in the hospital once before, but was at home for a few weeks, and went back for the purpose of having an operation, if she should be gotten strong enough; but this condition was not fulfilled.

Mrs. Hutchinon's maiden name was Hattie M. Gantt, and she was born the Fredrickstown, Ohio, December 25, 1851. Her mother died when she was young, and she was reared by an elder sister, with whom she came to Iowa and lived both at Des Moines and in Nevada. Here she met Mr. Hutchinson, to whom she was married at Des Moines on October 23, 1868. Her married life was all spent in Nevada, and here her six children were born, Francois Albert, Alexander W., Estelle, Lillian G., Clyde F., and Florence. Of these only Estelle, now Mr. Knight, and Clyde survive and are left with her husband and one grandchild to mourn their great loss. Mrs. Hutchinson was a strict domestic woman and she mingled little with the town and its society; but in her home she was most devoted; and the place she leaves vacant will ever be vacant to those who were about her and belonged to her.

Her body was brought home from Des Moines on Tuesday afternoon. Arrangements for the funeral are not yet perfected.
