Funeral Services Held at Slater for Mrs. Wilson

Slater, Jan. 9--Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Wilson, 41, of Gary, Inc., were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Riis Funeral Home and two o'clock at the Bethlehem church. The services were in charge of Rev. E. R. Rorem.The many large and beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. Ray Cole, Miss Marie Folgero and Mrs. Pete Tometich.
Misses June and Dorothy Weeks sang a duet "Saved by Grace, and Mrs. M. S. Hegen sang "I Love You Truly."
The pallbearers were Duane Moore of Gary, Ind., Lester Nelson, Jr., Clarence Ryg, Ralph Clark, Carl Torgerson and Phil Rood.
Burial was made in the Slater cemetery.
Mabel Roe was born in Marshalltown, Ia., December 13, 1898, and died at Gary, Ind., Jan. 2, 1940, at the age of 41 years and 19 days.
Her parents were Knut and Bertha Roe. The family moved to Radcliffe, where they made their home for some time. Mr. Roe died in 1903. The following year the family moved to the Tesdahl homestead north of Slater.
Mabel was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended the Slater schools and was employed in Des Moines for a number of years. Later she made her home in Gary, Ind., where her marriage to Harry Wilson took place.
Mrs. Wilson had been ill for over a year. Everything that a devoted husband and medical aid could do, had been done, but to no avail. She was always cheerful and never complained. Her mother, Mrs. H. H. Tesdahl, had spent the past six months with her and her sister, Mrs. Lester Nelson, had made a number of trips to see her.
A brief funeral was held at the Anderson Funeral Chapel in Gary, Ind., Thursday afternoon, Rev. Hage of the English Lutheran church had charge of the services, after which the body was brought to Slater.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Wilson, three brothers, Oscar, Clarence and Sanford Roe of Gary, Ind., her mother, Mrs. H. H. Tesdahl and her sister, Mrs. Lester Nelson of Slater.
