Funeral Services Held for Mrs. C. Tweedt

Special to the Journal.
Huxley, Feb. 1 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence Tweedt were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Palestine church after the opening service at the Riis Funeral Home in Slater.

Mrs. H. E. Jacobson and Miss Gladys Rullestad sang a duet, "Does Jesus Care?" Rev. Jacobson chose his text from the sixth chapter of the prophet Hosea, the first verse, where he found words of comfort to the bereaved family.

In addition to the floral offerings, there were many gifts to the missions in memory of Mrs. Tweedt and also the radio station at St. Olaf college. Her health did not permit her to be very active and she was unable to leave her home much the past few years. She was very quiet and patient, never complaining of her lot in this life. Walter Christopher sand a solo, "When I'v Gone the Last Mile of the Way" and at the conclusion of the services, Mrs. Jacobson, Gladys Rollestad and Walter Christopher sang as a trio, "Softly and Tenderly, Jesus Is Calling."

Joe Dobbe of Slater, Harry Wee, Burney Tweedt, Arthur Larson, Milton Dobbe and Newtie Wee served as pallbearers and interment was in the Palestine cemetery.

Mabel Randina Wardahl, daughter of George and Andrena Wardahl, was born in Kenyon, Minn., Nov. 22, 1896 She was married to Clarence Tweedt Aug. 9, 1920, and they made their home near Kenyon until 1923 when they moved to a farm two miles south of Huxley. Her father died in 1917 and her mother in 1922. Mrs. Tweedt had not enjoyed good health for a number of years and passed away from an attack of influenza Jan. 23, 1941, at the age of 44 years, two months and one day.

In addition to the husband, she is survived by three brothers and three sisters.
