Funeral Services Held at Bethlehem Church for Casper Rimathe

Slater, Sept. 7--Funeral services for Casper Rimathe, 75 years, were held Friday afternoon. A brief prayer service was held at the home, at 1:30 o'clock and at 2 o'clock at the Bethesda Lutheran church. Services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. E. R. Rorem, who read the Twenty-Third Psalm, as the scripture passage.

the many beautiful floral offings paid silent tribute to the departed friend. Miss Josie Ryg and Miss Edna Houge arranged the flowers.

A number of gifts of money to the missions in memory of Mr. Rimathe, were given by relatives and friends.

Two duets were sung by Misses Gladys and Arlene Estrem, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Harold Croft.

The active pall bearers were Marvin Thompson of Williams, Jean Houge of Boone, Loyal Lowman of Kelley; William Weeks, Ervin Weeks and Amos Ihle. Honorary pall bearers were John Fausch of Alleman; George J. Alleman, Oley Storing, N. O. Ihle, Dr. G. J. Severson, M. S. Heggen, John Ihle and Charley Ryen. Burial was made in the Slater cemetery.

Casper Rimathe was born in Switzerland, July 30, 1868, and died at his home near Slater, August 31, 1943, at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 1 day. His parents were Barbara and Casper Rimathe. With his parents he came to this country when he was five years old and they settled on a farm southeast of Slater. He was confirmed in the Salem Reformed Evangelical church.

His marriage to Rachel Ryen took place March 3, 1894. Eight children blessed their home, three of whom died in infancy They made their home on a farm near Alleman for 6 years. In 1900 they purchased a farm north of Slater, where they have made their home since that time.

Mr. Rimathe was active in the work of the church, as well as community affairs. He was one of the best known and most prominent men of the community. He was a devoted husband and father, and a faithful friend.

He is survived by his wife and five children: Edwin Rimathe, Raymond Rimathe, Mrs. Obed Johnson, all of near Slater, also 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
