THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 28, 1933, page 1, column 2. "MRS. MABEL BEACH-DAVIS - Mabel Ann Beach, daughter of Albert and Jane Beach, was born Jan. 21, 1891, in Hardin county, near Hubbard, Iowa, and passed away September 23, 1933, in the Lutheran hospital, Des Moines. At the age of two years her parents moved to the farm which was her home at the time of her death. Here she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Roy Davis in a double wedding with her only sister, Mrs. Verne Randol, on February 11, 1914. One daughter, Jean Frances, was born to this union. Other surviving members of her family are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Jane Beach, and one sister, Mrs. Verne Randol, besides other friends and relatives. Mrs. Davis united with the Presbyterian church at Maxwell, Iowa, on October 13, 1916. She was one who loved her home and made of it a place of wholesome living and enjoyable contentment. In the home circle the sorrowing husband will miss his kind and loving companion, and the daughter, the watchful and tender care of her patient, kind and affectionate mother. We shall meet but we, we shall miss her, There will be one vacant chair. We shall linger to caress her as we breathe our evening prayer. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. B. H. Guthrie, assisted by Rev. N. W. Underwood, pastor of the Christian church. The music included three songs by a double quartet, composed of Clark and Dale John, Ross, Claire, Paul and James Olinger, Albert Green and G. N. Nelson, assisted by Mrs. T. C. Couch at the piano. They sang "In the Garden," "We are Going Down the Valley" and "Sleep on Beloved." The pall bearers were Douglass and Loren Davis, Roy Bell, Harry Gibson, Howard Couch and Joe Aldrich. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the services were: Relatives: Mrs. Alice Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Beach and daughter, Mildred, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beach, of Zearing; Mr. and Mrs. John Ayers, Mr. and Mrs. Will Mathews, Mrs. Harriet Dailey, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mathers, Beryl Mathews, Mr. and Mrs. Nane Baker and family, of Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor, of Collins; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whitney and family, of Cambridge, and Dale Evans, of Elkhart. Friends: Mr. and Mrs. Warren Judd….The Sophomore class of the Collins High School of which her daughter, Jean Frances, is a member, attended in a body. CARD OF THANKS - We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our neighbors and friends who so generously helped with their kindness and sympathy during the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Also, we wish to express our deep gratitude to the singers and to those who sent the many beautiful floral offerings. Roy Davis and Jean. Mrs. Harriet Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Verne Randol and Family."
