DEATHS
CHARLES C. CLEMONS
Charles C. Clemons, 86, of Nevada, died Friday, Jan. 27, 1984, in Long Term Care unit of Story County Hospital.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at the Ryan Funeral Home with Dr. William Bass officiating. Burial was at the Collins Cemetery.
Charles Clemons was born on October 9, 1897 to William Harvey and Charlotte (Green) Clemons in Bluford, Ill. He married Alma Bundy in 1915. She died in February 1945. He then married Leona F. Snyder in August of 1946.
Clemons had moved to Story County in 1921 and worked as a farmhand. He later farmed in the Collins and Colo area. He moved to Nevada in 1943 and was employed as a sexton of the Nevada Cemetery for 25 years before retiring in 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Leona; one son, Harvey Clemons of Oconomowoc, Wisc.; two daughters Eva Marie Byerly of Des Moines and Marjorie Luing of Marshalltown, two sisters, Jennie Linder of Detroit, Mich., and Hallie Britton of Bluford, Ill.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
