THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 24, 1963, page 1, column 3. "CLARENCE CUMMINGS DIES. - Clarence Cummings, 79, passed away Tuesday night at the Ames Nursing Home in Ames, where he had been a patient for some time. Surviving are his wife, Alice, three sons, Gearald**, Elmer and Howard, all of Maxwell and two daughters, Mrs. Eva Holsinger of Santa Susana, Calif. and Mrs. Polly Jay of Ames. Also surviving are 62 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. E. G. Cockrell and Mrs. Walter Davis, both of Omaha, Nebraska and one brother, Glen of Maxwell. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30, at the Cooper Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Renner officiating. Interment in the Maxwell Cemetery." **Editorial note - spelling used is from the original newspaper article.
