Funeral Service Held Sunday For Mrs. Stook
The funeral service was held in the Methodist church at Cambridge Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Fitz was in charge of the service and was assisted by Rev. Sargent.
Mrs. Nerness brought the message in song singing "Abide With Me", "Sweet Hour of Prayer", and "What a Friend we have in Jesus." Mrs. Webb was the pianist.
The pall bearers were Mr. Neal, Lloyd Porter, Billy Hawks, Carl Fatland, W. R. Johnson and Harry Lyon.
Burial was at the center cemetery east of Cambridge.
The following obituary was read at the church service.
"Eliza Shepphard was born in London, England, April 26th, 1863, and passed away at Mary Greeley hospital Thursday evening October 18 at 6:00.
She was united in marriage Richard Stook in 1886. They came to Canada about 30 years ago and moved to Cambridge about 16 years ago.
Her husband was a Methodist minister for 60 years. She was loving wife and mother, and was of a retiring nature. She was a great lover of flowers and birds. She would feed the birds in winter, and see that water was there for the birds in the summer time.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mrs. Salker of Cambridge, one step-son of Forest Grove, Oregon, one twin sister of London, England, and one nephew beside her many friends.
"Blessed are the dead which die for the Lord."
