THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 31, 1957, page 4, column _. "NELLIE COUGHENOUR - Funeral services for Nellie Coughenour were held Saturday September 21, 1957 from the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell, with Rev. Randall Sims, officiating. Music was furnished by Jean Mobler and Madeline Summitt. The floral offerings were cared for by Helen Vincent, Florence Gibson and Georgina Dobson. Casket bearers were Nathan Vincent, Larry Dobson, Grant Vincent, Verle McIntyre, Cecil Kitchen and Dick Myers. Interment in the Iowa Center Cemetery. OBITUARY - Nellie Ray, the daughter of Jacob and Lucy Ray was born northeast of Iowa Center, January 4, 1880. She passed from this life on September 18, 1957. She was united in marriage to George Coughenour, October 11, 1899. To this union was born three sons and a daughter. Her husband passed away February 2, 1953. Also preceding her in death were son Ralph, a daughter-in-law, Cera, three grandsons and one granddaughter. She became a member of the Christian Church during the ministry of Rev. DeLoss Marken. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Ray Coughenour of Ames, Rollin Coughenour of Maxwell, daughter Mrs. Gene Carwin of Nevada, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also a host of friends and relatives who shall miss her very much."
