Last Rites for Mrs. Fred Maxwell Thursday P.M.

Maxwell, July 19--Funeral services for Mrs. Mauriee Richardson Maxwell wife of Fred Maxwell were held on Thursday afternoon in the Presbyterian church with the Rev. J. D. Ransom of Nevada officiating assisted by the Rev. Stanley Mahannah. Mrs. Harold Mohler, soloist sang "In The Garden" and "Shadows" with Mrs. Ina Larsen accompanist on the piano.

Flower tokens were most beautiful and profuse arranged and carried by Mr. R. B. Bullard, Mrs. Clint Warfield and Mrs. Arthur Porter. Pallbearers were cousins of the deceased: Van D. Gamble, George Gamble, Harold Tipton, Leon Golden, Martin Maxwell and Claire Fish. Burial was made in the Woodland cemetery at Iowa Center.

Rev. Mahannah read the following obituary:

"Mauriee Elloween Richardson, daughter of Frank B. and Sarah Jane Richardson, was born on the Richardson farm west of Maxwell, February 1, 1892, and passed away July 15, 1946 at the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 14 days, while enroute to the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines.

"On December 6, 1917 she was united in marriage to Fred M. Maxwell. The couple settled in the Maxwell community where she enjoyed the greater part of her life with the exception of a few years spent in Arapohoe, Nebraska prior to her marriage.

"To this union were born three children: one daughter, Mrs. Robert A. Zabka of Chicago, Ill.; and two sons, Maurice and LaVonne both of Maxwell. Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her passing two sisters -- Mrs. Leila Watson of Oxford, Neb., and Mrs. C. L. Boster of Whittier, Calif.--three brothers: Gale Richardson of San Jose, Calif.; Maurice, her twin brother of Imperial, Neb.; and Eldon Richardson of Maxwell besides one granddaughter, Kathie Lee Zabka.

"No person was more loving and solicitous to her family than was this mother. She was converted and joined the Presbyterian church at Maxwell when she was a young girl and has been a faithful member of the church and its societies. The cordiality and tenderness of her home is attested by the many cherished memories possessed by all those who knew her."
