James Carr, died at the home of his son, Wm., near Valeria, April 1, 1901, at the advanced age of eighty-two years, having been born in the year 1819. Father Carr was a modest, retiring gentleman, who possessed that uprightness of character which was to him a fortune and descends as a rich legacy upon all who were fortunate in being numbered among his friends, of whom there are many in this locality.
