THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, September 2, 1926, page 1, column 4. "ROB'T G. BYERS DIES SUDDENLY AT CALIFORNIA HOME. - The following account of the death of Robert G. Byers, who was born in Maxwell, was taken from a recent copy of the Pasadena Star News: "Pasadena friends of Robert Gray Byers, who knew him during his childhood and when he was a student at Pasadena high school, have just learned of his sudden death on Sunday, August 22, at his home in Half Moon Bay, Calif. Mr. Byers, who was 25 year of age, died of hemorrhage of the brain. He was buried on Tuesday in Cypress Lawn, San Francisco. Mr. Byers had been married three years and besides his wife, Mrs. Lucile Byers, leaves a four months old daughter. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Byers, live at 334 East Orange Ave., Pasadena. He also leaves a nephew, Robert M. Curl, of Earljmart,** Calif. Mr. Byers came to Pasadena with his parents when he was a baby and after graduating from Pasadena high school attended Davis Agricultural college. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Patch, of the San Mateo Methodist church." **Editorial note - spelling from original newspaper article is used.
