RESPECTED LADY PASSES AWAY

Mother of L. Shafland, of This Place, Passed Away Tuesday at Home of Daughter Near Clarion After Short Illness

Mrs. O. Sheveland passed away on Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter near Clarion, after only a short illness from pneumonia, her son, L. Shafland at this place, being advised of her demise that same day. The deceased was 78 years of age at the time of her death. Her husband survives her, beside seven of the twelve children, they being Rev. O. O. Sheveland, of Lisbon, Ill; Rev. Axel Sheveland of Hayfield, Minn; Amond Shafland, of Story City; Chris Shefland, of Lakefield, Minn; L. Shafland, of this place; Mrs. Jonas Lewis, of Cambridge and Mrs. O. J. Lewis of Clarion. There are also a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn her death.

The funeral will be held Saturday from St. Olaf church at Clarion, Rev. H. C. Holm of the United Lutheran Church, to preach the funeral sermon. L. Shafland, of this place, left this morning to be present at the funeral. There are many here, who will remember the deceased, as she made her home with the L. Shafland family at this place for a year about three years ago, who will extend hearty sympathy to the sorrowing ones.
