BENGT SVENSON LAID TO REST
Aged Resident of Story City Laid To Rest Last Friday, Rev. H. Solum Preaching Funeral Sermon
Bengt Svenson was born in Sweden, Europe, October 7, 1831 and died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Jondall, southwest of here on Tuesday, December 31, 1912 being 81 years, 10 months and 24 days old at the time of his demise. He came to this country 45 years ago, settling on a farm five miles northwest of here, where he lived for ten years, when he sold it to the late John Christian, and moved to Story City, where he has since made his home. His wife died some years ago.
He had been in his usual health until about three weeks ago, when he was taken sick. He was then taken to the home of his daughter southwest of here, where every care and attention was given him, but he had contracted pneumonia from which he failed to rally, and passed away as above stated. He leaves three daughters and two sons to mourn his death. Only two of his children live near here, they being Mrs. O. S. Jondall of this place, and Mrs. C. E. Johnson of Iowa Falls. he other daughter lives in Sweden.
The funeral was held last Friday at eleven o'clock from the Jondall residence and at one o'clock from St. Petri church of Story City, Rev H. Solum preaching the funeral sermon. The bereaved family are extended the sympathy of their numerous friends in their sorrow.
