Funeral Services Held in Story City For Mrs. Grace Wilson
Story City, Jan. 7--Funeral services were held at the Henderson Funeral Home in Story City Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Grace Wilson who passed away at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames at 7:15 p. m. Wednesday December 31, where she had been a patient for two days. Burial was in the Story City cemetery. The Reverend W. E. Ulrich was in charge of the service and read the following obituary.
Grace Gertrude Wier, daughter of Charles Francis and Eliza Lois Wier was born in Howard Township, Story County, Iowa November 26, 1882 and died December 31, 1947 at the ageo of 65 years, one month and 5 days.
About 1910 Grace Wier was married to William Williams, who passed away in California. She later married James Wilson, who died at El Paso, Texas. After this Mrs. Grace Wilson returned to Story City where she made her home with her mother until her mother's death. In later years she lived at Centerville, Iowa for a few years, returning again to Story City where he resided until her death.
In 1924 she became a member of Grace Evangelical Church of Story City from which she transferred her membership to Centerville, Iowa in 1945.
She is survived by one brother, Chas. W. Wier of Story City; three sisters, Mrs. H. G. Chalfant of Nevada, Mrs. Isadore Maul of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Luella Sheffield of Knoxville, Iowa; one nephew, Clifton Wier of Marshalltown, and three nieces, Loraine Hausner* of Knoxville, Erma Matson* of Ames and Ethel Meyers* of Nevada. Also other relatives and friends.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The three nieces mentioned are sisters, all daughters of Luella Sheffield. They were Lorene Hausner, Irma Matson and Ethel Myhre.
