Funeral Services Held Monday For Mrs. Andrew Nelson

Cambridge, Feb. 7--Services were held from the Methodist church fro Mrs. Andrew Nelson, Monday afternoon at 1:30 and conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Fitz. Two songs, "Rock of Ages" and "Abide with Me" were sung by Glen Presnall, Mrs. Jorgenson, Mrs. Neoma Gardner and E. C. Gardner. Burial was in the Cambridge cemetery.

Ada Nelson was born March 4, 1871, to Anna and Oscar Davis at Redfield, Iowa, and passed away in Marshalltown, Iowa, Jan. 31, 1948, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to Edward Tomlinson, June 19, 1889. Their early life lears were spent in Lohrville, Iowa, coming to Cambridge in 1906. To this union was born six children, two sons, the infant, Andrew, died at birth, and Edward who preceded her in death, four daughters living to mourn her passing, Mrs. Ruth Waud of Marshalltown, Mrs. Marion Gill of Cambridge; Mrs. Grace Larson of Madrid, and Mrs. Myrtle Blair of Bemidji, Minn., eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

In 1913 she was united in marriage to Andrew Nelson who preceded her in death in 1934.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Methodist church in Cambridge, serving as president of the Dorcas society for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cambridge and served as their president at one time. During her active years she was greatly interested in all community activities, more than willing to do her part.

She was a kind and loving mother and spent herself freely in service to her family, was a friend and counsel to many in all walks of life.

Eight of the grandsons were pall bearers, Edward Gill, Edward Leslie, Melvin, Paul and Rex Tomlinson; Homer and Walter Larson.

Those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Waud, Marshalltown; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Larson and sons Homer and Walter of Madrid; Mrs. Roy H. Blair of Bemidji, Minn.; Edward Tomlinson, Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tomlinson of Iowa Falls; Mrs. Eileen Barton of Colomus; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mein, Mrs. Lawrence Reisselmann and David of Carroll; Mrs. V. R. Foss and Dawn Elizabeth of Paola, Kan.; Carl Conway of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elliott of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Rood, Mrs. Elsie Larson, and Mrs. Charles Skortman of Slater.
