Last Rites For Mrs. Peddicord Held in Illinois
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Peddicord, 84, who passed away Friday, June 11, at 12:15 in Des Moines after an illness of a year and a half, were held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock from the Johnson Grove Methodist church with Rev. James D. Ransom of Central Presbyterian church, Nevada, officiating.
Mrs. Lee Lowenberg of Nevada sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer" with Mrs. Glover Ambrose accompanying.
The pall bearers were Andy Kauffman, Tony Meimann, William Heil, Thomas Brooks, Cecil Apple and John Carmody.
The following life story was read by the officiating minister.
Obituary
Margaret McMichael, daughter of James and Margaret McMichael, was born August 9, 1864 in Rutland Township, LaSalle county, Illinois. She was married to Ami Jefferson Peddicord at LaSalle, on January 28, 1885. To this union were born four children, James, who died in infancy; Roy; Margaret, now Mrs. Patrick Carmody; and Isabelle, now Mrs. Dickerson.
The family resided in Illinois until 1895 when they moved to Richland Township, Story county, Iowa. In this community they made their home through the years. Mrs. Peddicord was a member of the Johnson's Grove Methodist church and was active in the women's work of the church.
On July 9, 1924, Mr. Peddicord passed away. For a number of years Mrs. Peddicord has made her home with her children.
In spite of advancing years she remained active physically and alert mentally. She passed away Friday, June 11, 1948 after an illness of a year and a half.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Roy, of Streeter, Illinois, two daughters, Mrs. Patrick Carmody of Zearing, Iowa, and Mrs. Isabelle Dickerson of Glendale, California. Also seven grandchildren, and a host of neighbors and friends.
Burial was beside her husband in the family burial ground near Ottawa, Illinois.

Services in IllinoisFollowing the services at the Johnson Grove church, the remains were taken to Marseilles, Ill., where services were held at the Seal's Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Methodist pastor of that city officiating.
Burial was in the De Bolt cemetery.
Those accompanying the remains from here were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peddicord of Streater, Ill., who had been called here by his other's death, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Carmody in whose home the body had lain in state until the funeral hour at the Johnson Grove church, Mrs. Ross Holveck and daughter Kay. The daughter Mrs. Isabelle Dickerson of Glendale, Calif., was in Marseilles for the final rites, flying back to California the following day.

Out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral services here were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peddicord of Streater, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Milford Peddicord and son Dean Peddicord and wife and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peddicord of Perry, Isabelle Carmody of Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. Narval Hart and son of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Katherine Carmody and Pauline, Des Moines.
