Mrs. Omer J. (Corinne L.) Gunderson, 56, secretary to the superintendent of schools, died suddenly Friday at her home at 106 S. Tennessee, of apparent natural causes. Funeral services are set tentatively for 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Corinne Lucille Stoll was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Roland, the daughter of Nels J. and Mabel (Twedt) Stoll. She was graduated from Ames High School.

She married Omer J. Gunderson, Oct. 2. 1937, in Elk Point, S D., and they moved to Mason City in 1940. From 1940 to 1946 she was secretary for the International Harvester Co. and for the last 12 years had been secretary to the superintendents of the public schools. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the National Association of Educational Secretaries.

Mrs. Gunderson is survived by her mother, Mrs. Carter (Mabel) Sparboe, Story City; one daughter, Jennifer Jean, Ames; son John, wife Deanna (Pittenger), and grandchildren Joel, Michael, and Amy, McHenry, Ill.; son Marc, at home; one daughter-in-law Mary Beth and granddaughter Jennifer Ann, Mason City; one brother, Jerold Stoll, Huxley.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, and son David, killed in action in Vietnam.

The Rev. Lavern Hanson, pastor of Trinity Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery next to Omer and David. Friends may call at the Major-Erickson Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
