Hold Final Rites For Mrs. John Jagerson
Funeral services for Mrs. John Jagerson of Madelia, Minn., were held on Monday afternoon, May 23, the Bethlehem Lutheran church in Slater. Rev. P. E. Onstad had charge of the services.
The many beautiful floral offerings and gifts of money to the missions and other organizations, paid tribute to the memory of Mrs. Jagerson.
Rev. P. E. Onstad sang two solos, "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name: and "Behold the Host."
The pall bearers were Cyrus Ihle of Des Moines, Ole, Harold, Clyde and Clifford Jagerson, all of Madrid and Amund Ihle of Slater.
Burial was made in the Slater cemetery by the side of her husband, who died about three weeks ago.
Obituary
Godelia Highland was born near Slater, August 14, 1882, and died at the hospital in Madelia, Minn., May 19, 1949, at the age of 66 years, nine months and five days. Her parents were the late Cyrus and Isabel Highland. She spent her girlhood in Slater.
Her marriage to John Jagerson of Madrid took place on September 15, 1909. They lived in Slater until November, 1910, when they moved to Bricelyn, Minnesota. In 1921, they moved to Sherburn, Minn. where they made their home until February, 1948, when they retired from farming and purchased a home in Madelia, Minn.
Mrs. Jagerson was seriously ill for several days and died from a heart attack at the hospital. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Survivors
She is survived by six children, Cyrus Jagerson of Fairmont, Minn., Laura Jagerson of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Percy Jose of Madelia, Gerald Jagerson of Bricelyn, Minn., Mrs. H. A. Engle of Jamestown, N. D., and James Jagerson, Fort Bliss, Texas, in the U. S. Army. Six grandchildren also survive.
The relatives attending from a distance were from Fairmont, Minn., Fort Bliss, Texas; Bricelyn, Minn., Madelia, Minn., Jamestown, N. D., Minneapolis, Minn., Des Moines, Ames, Elkhart, Chicago Heights, Ill., and Salt Lake City, Utah.
