Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mary L. Fines
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary L. Fines were held on Sunday, May 15, at the Brouhard Funeral home in Zearing. Mrs. Kermit Drier was the reader and music was furnished by Mrs. Frances Johns, soloist, and Mrs. Lola Smith, pianist.
Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Vida Tisdale, Mrs. Elisoe Bailey and Mrs. Goldye Barnard. The casket bearers were John Hoberland, Forrest Holveck, Elmer Buffington, Earl Sparrow, Aaron Buffington and Ross Sparrow.
Obituary
Mrs. Mary Louella Sparrow Fines, 68, a former Zearing resident, passed away in her home in Los Angeles, Calif., Wednesday, May 11. She was a daughter of Jennie and Ephraim Sparrow, born August 4, 1881 in Story county.
She was married to James H. Fines on Dec. 21, 1898 and to this union were born 10 daughters and three sons. The husband and sons, Ephraim and Harold, and daughter Lucille, preceded her in death.
Survivors
Surviving are one son, Howard of Waterloo, nine daughters, Mrs. Iola Thompson of Chicago, Mrs. Vera Rasmussen of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Edna Beach of Waterloo, Mrs. Hazel Johnson of Freeport, Ill., Mrs. Goldye Reese of Los Angeles, Mrs. Mabelle Rasmussen of Los Angeles, Mrs. Imo Hudson of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Wanda Oderi and Barbara Jean Fines of Los Angeles, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Don Davis of Riverton, Wyo. and many nieces and nephews.
All the children were present for the funeral services.
