Final Services For Mrs. Mary Person
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Person were held recently at Norwalk, Iowa with Rev. Scholes of Ames officiating. He was assisted by Rev. C--ter of the Norwalk Methodist church. Burial was in the Carlisle cemetery.
Casket bearers wer Rev. Arthur Henry of Ames, Charles Henry of Ames, Dr. Richard Fausch of Ames, Will Henry of Beach, Roy Henry of Indianola and J. O. Gring of Dallas Center.
Mrs. B. A. Imsland and Mrs. G. E. DuBois of McCallsburg sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Sweet By and By" with Mrs. LeRoy Ringgenberg at the piano.
Obituary
The following obituary was read by the officiating pastor.
Mary Elizabeth Person, daughter of William and Caroline Henry, was born Feb. 25, 1881, at Bloomington, Ill. She died at St. Luke's hospital in Denver, Colo. on Friday, Sept. 2, 1949, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 6 days.
The family moved to Carlisle, Iowa, while she was a child. She attended school there and at Simpson college where she graduated from a normal training course. She taught school near Carlisle and Indianola until her marriage to Ed. Person on Sept. 18, 1906.
They lived on a farm near Carlisle, where three of their four children, Frank, Dorothy and Edwin, were born. In March of 1918 they moved to a farm near Spring Hill where the youngest son, Bill, was born. In 1932 they moved to Norwalk, Iowa, and lived here until Mr. Person's death in 1938. After which she lived with her son, Edwin, until 1953. From that time, she had been taking care of various friends and relatives who needed her help. She died very suddenly while on a visit in Denver. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors
She leaves her three sons, Frank of Ft. Eustis, Va., Edwin of Norwalk, and Bill of Des Moines, as well as her daughter, Mrs. Allis Wicks of McCallsburg. In addition, there are two aunts and an uncle, four grandsons, several nephews and nieces and numerous friends who mourn their loss in her passing.

Cook, Mrs. Ross Morris, Mrs. Gerald Vallem, Mr. and Mrs. George Auestad, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Baumgardner, Mrs. G. E. DuBois, Mrs. Burger Imsland and Mrs. LeRoy Ringgenberg.
