Albert Hill Rites In Iowa Center

Funeral services for Albert E. Hill, 51, were held on Monday afternoon Aug. 29, at 2 o'clock in the Evangelical church at Iowa Center, with his pastor, the Rev. E. S. Bloomquist officiating, assisted by Rev. H. D. Robison.

Preceding the final services, a short prayer service was held at the home.

Floral tributes were many and beautiful, arranged and cared for by Mrs. Golden Coughenour, Mrs. Hannah Moore and Miss Leta Higley.

Pall bearers were Virgil Swarm, Rollie Coughenour, Carl Howell, Nathan Vincent, Lawrence Johnson and Larry Dobson.

Mrs. Eldon Geisler, soloist sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", "Beyond the Sunset" and "Sunrise Tomorrow", accompanied on the piano by Mrs. William Gienapp of Mingo.

Burial was made in the Farrar cemetery.

Obituary

The following brief obituary was read during the service:

Albert Emery Hill, son of Henry and Alice Amanda Hill, was born Aug. 22, 1898, at Farrar, Iowa, and passed away Aug. 26, 1949, near Windom, Minn., at the age of 51 years and four days.

He was converted and baptized in the Evangelical church of the Zion community and later transferred his membership to the same organization of the Iowa Center church, where he had served as treasurer for both Sunday school and church. He also was a member of the board of trustees.

He was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge at Maxwell, social 463, and the Rebekah lodge, 187.

On Aug. 22, 1923, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Graham at the Presbyterian parsonage in Maxwell by the Rev. H. D. Robison. To this union two children were born, Robert Chester and Doris Mae, who both survive with the wife.

Other Survivors

Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Wilfred Sweitzer of Stephen, Mo., Mrs. David Price of Columbia, Mo., and Mrs. Madison Shryock of Nevada, and two brothers, Carl and Frank Hill, both of Maxwell.

Mr. Hill had a quiet, unassuming life. Quick to go to those in need, his life was one of service. He loved his home, his family, his friends and his neighbors.
