THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday December 22, 1910, page 1. "OBITUARY - Margaret Graybeal was born in Virginia, September 10, 1827, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elliott, November 30, 1910, aged eighty-three years, two months and twenty days. At the age of six years she, with her parents, moved from Virginia to Indiana. On January 16, 1848 she was united in marriage to Henry Bell and to this union six children were born. In 1868 they took their little family and leaving old friends behind they came to Iowa, settling in Polk county, where she continued to reside during the remainder of her life. Thirteen years ago she was bereft of her husband who departed this life October 25, 1897. One daughter, Lois E., died in infancy, and a son, Lewis H., died in August 1904. The children present at the funeral were: Mrs. Jane Hall, of Collins; Mrs. Alice Beach, of Zearing; and Mrs. Amanda Elliott, of Berwick. Mrs. Ida Dunlap, who resides in Minnesota, was unable to be present. Besides her children Mother Bell left nineteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. At the age of eighteen she confessed her faith in her Savior and united with the Church of Christ or Christian Church, having been a member of that Church at Maxwell at the time of her death. While for many years she was deprived of attending the church or her choice her faith never grew less then when she made the good confession so many years ago. Mother Bell was a faithful and loving wife, mother and neighbor. After brief services at the home of Mrs. Elliott, conducted by Rev. Crank, of the United Brethren Church, of Des Moines, they took all that was earthly of this mother of Isreal to the Brethren church near her old home and brief services were held by Rev. Wingett, of the M. E. church, of Berwick, after which her body was laid to rest in the Brethern cemetery. "There remainth therefore a rest to the people of God." CARD OF THANKS - The children and other relatives of Mrs. Bell wish to thank each and everyone who so kindly lent their aid in completing the arrangements for the funeral and having everything in readiness at the Church. We especially wish to thank Grandma Hostetler for what she did. When you need help in your hours of affliction and sorrow may you find ready hearts and hands as we did, is our prayer."
