ELIZA PEARL CROSS
COLLINS: Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church for Mrs. Pearl Cross with Rev. John L. Alexander officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson and Mrs. Lloyd Holland who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Good Night and Good Morning." Mrs. Fred Mead was the accompanist and Mrs. Earl Robinson presided at the organ supplying the instrumental music.
The flowers were cared for by Elva Maxwell, Marge Maxwell and Clara Serbein.
Casket bearers were Clarence Maxwell, Leon Maxwell, Gaylord Clark, Floyd Oswalt, Ivan Mullihan and Everett Kelderhouse.
Interment was in the Collins Evergreen cemetery under the direction of the Cooper Funeral Directors of Maxwell.
Obituary
Eliza Pearl Cross was born July 1, 1877 at Collins. She was the daughter of Charles Wilbur and Mary Ann Mead. She passed away at her home northeast of Collins, July 15, 1957 at the age of 80 years and 15 days.
Mrs. Cross grew to womanhood in the Collins and Zearing neighborhoods. She lived in Red Lake Falls, Minn. for a few years and was united in marriage with Martin A. Cross on Jan. 2, 1907. They lived in the Collins community all their married life, and one son Lester was born to them. Mrs. Cross joined the Methodist church when a child and remained a member until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband who died in September 1950, three sisters, one brother and her parents.
Surviving are the son, Lester; two sisters, Mrs. H. E. Southern and Mrs. W. A. Fitzgerald, both of Collins and many other relatives and a host of friends.
