Services Were Held Tuesday For Mrs. Seeley
Last rites for Mrs. Lauretta Seeley were held April 18 a 1:30 with Rev. J. D. Ransom officiating at the Morfoot Funeral Home. The grandsons were pall bearers.
Obituary
Mrs. Lauretta M. Seeley, the daughter of Albert and Drucilla Cable, was born in Forreston, Illinois June 15, 1861. She was one of a family of nine children all of whom preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage to Willard Seeley of Alden, Iowa on March 18, 1880, where they resided on a farm until his death. To this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband at an early age in 1900; a daughter Ethylyn in infancy and a son Ray in 1937.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-- Mrs. Russell Birney of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Miller of Thor, Iowa; Mrs. Glen Neel of Portland, Oregon; and Mr. John Seeley of Rockford, Illinois.
Also surviving her are fifteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
She has spent a full and useful life not only with her own children and grandchildren but for years was a practical nurse in and around Webster City, Iowa. Before her eyesight failed she spent and derived great pleasure from reading her Bible.
Lauretta Seeley passed on to her reward April 15, 1950 at 3:45 p. m. and will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter in Alden, Iowa.
