Services Tomorrow For Mrs. Koine: Resident Since '12
Mrs. Anna Koine, 830 R avenue, a resident of Nevada since 1912, died at the Story County Hospital Wednesday at 2:50 p. m. where she had been a patient for the past two and a half weeks.
Born Sept. 15, 1875, a daughter of William and Melissia Elliott*, she married to William R. Koine, Nov. 15, 1912 in Des Moines.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church.
Funeral services will be held from St. Patrick's Catholic church Friday morning at 9:30 a. m. with the Rev. J. J. Brickley officiating. Burial will be in the St. James cemetery in Nevada.*
The Rosary will be recited at the Ryan Funeral Home at 8:00 p. m. tonight.
Survivors are one son, Joseph Richard Koine of the U. S. Navy, who arrived here Sunday as the grandson, Richard Koine, who flew here from Hickam Field, Hawaii, T. H. She also leaves four other grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1920.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Records show Anna Koine was the daughter of Thomas Elwood Sheridan and Melissa Elliott. (Elliott was her mother's maiden name, not her maiden name.) Anna (Sheridan) Koine is buried in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Nevada-- the St. James Cemetery is in Colo, Iowa. Her mother, Melissa (Elliott) Burns, is also buried in the St. Patrick's Cemetery near her.
