Obituary.

Mr. Henry Funk who has been sick for a short time died on Friday afternoon at his son-in-law's H. A. Higley's, where he has made his home for a number of years. His funeral was held in the U. E. church on Sunday at half past two o'clock. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended the services, which were conducted by Rev. Urbino, as pastor, the Masonic Fraternity taking charge after the discourse. The services both at the church and cemetery were solemn and impressive and beautifully rendered. A large number of the Masons attended, several coming from Nevada.

Mr. Funk was an old settler coming to Story county in 1856 and living in this place since then. He was 79 years old, a good citizen, a Christian and honest in all his dealings. There remain two daughters, Mrs. Higley of this place and Mrs. L. A. Golden of Ankeny and two sons, C. A. Funk of Perry and Frank Funk who lives in British America. A son and daughter died in infancy and Mrs. Funk died a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Funk, who has been visiting his son Hymen at Clear Lake, attended the funeral.
