One of the pioneer settlers of Howard township, Mrs. Iver Larson, passed away at her home at Story City February 19, 1922. Mrs. Larson was born in Norway, February 2, 1850 and was married to Iver Larson February 14, 1873. Besides her aged husband, she leaves to mourn her death seven children. They are Swen T. Larson, Mrs. M. C. Wierson, Mrs. E. M. Henderson, Mrs. C. H. Christiansen, all of Story City, Mrs. M. G. Boyd of Albert Lea, Minn., and Mrs. David Cooper of Des Moines, besides twenty-five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Larson formerly lived five miles northwest of Roland. Funeral services were held at Story City.
Transcriber note: She was buried in the Roland Cemetery, Roland, Story County, Iowa. Her marker reads: Chistena LARSON 1848-1922. She is buried near Iver LARSON 1841-1923. In spite of the mismatched date of birth this is the correct person.
